The Sealy Tigers boys varsity basketball team faced off against the Needville Bluejays in a conference game on Tuesday, and unfortunately, the Tigers fell to the Bluejays with a final score of 54-51.

The Bluejays came out strong in the first quarter, scoring 19 points, and managed to hold the Tigers to 13 points. In the second quarter, the Bluejays added another 7 points to their lead, while the Tigers scored 10 points.

The third quarter saw a slight resurgence from the Tigers, who scored 9 points to the Bluejays’ 12, but the gap was still wide as the Bluejays held onto a 42-32 lead heading into the final quarter of play.

In the fourth quarter, the Tigers put in a valiant effort, scoring 19 points to the Bluejays’ 16. However, it was not enough to overcome the Bluejays’ lead, and the game ended with a 54-51 victory for Needville.

Leading the way for the Tigers was senior Ryder Ramirez, who scored a total of 17 points in the game. Junior Ronnie Thrasher also contributed to the Tigers’ scoring with 9 points. Junior Reid Miller lead the team in rebounds with 10, and senior Dillon Dornak was second in rebounds with 9.

Overall, it was a tough loss for the Tigers, but it was a game of small runs and solid defense. The Tigers will look to bounce back and come back stronger in their next game.  Congratulations goes out to #1 Ryder Ramirez for being selected the Sealy Basketball Player of the Game.
