Faith Academy Knights Varsity Boys Basketball: A Tough Start to the New Year

On January 3rd, the Faith Academy Knights Varsity boys travelled to Allen Academy to start the year to play against the Rams. Allen Academy took the victory 58-25. Leading scorer and rebounder for the Knights was Sr. Jonah Taake with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Also adding to the totals on the night was Freshman Joe Bob Lequerica with 6 points and Sophomore Dylan Callihan with 5. The loss moved their record to 1-1 on the season with a lot of games coming up in the next month.

On January 6th, the Knights travelled to Kingwood Covenant to take on the Crusaders in their home gym. The Knights lost the battle to a very well-oiled team, 81-46. Leading scorer for the Knights was Freshman Joe Bob Lequerica with 14 hard-fought points. The top rebounder in the contest was Sr. John Poorman with 11. Great defensive play was led by Poorman, as well as Sr. Jonah Taake, and Sophomores Andrew Stolz and Dylan Callihan. The Knights will take on The Connection school this Thursday and look to get back to their winning ways. Be on the lookout for The Knights schedule and come support our team.

Player of the Week

SR, John Poorman. John played very well on the week, leading the way on defense for the Knights, also racking up 20+ rebounds in the two contests.

Junior High

Knights A-team

On January 6, The Faith Academy JH A-team travelled to Kingwood Covenant to play a tough Crusaders JH team. Leading scorer and rebounder in the game was Connor Landrum with 12 points and 11 rebounds. The Knights lost the nail-biter, 30-21. Also helping Landrum with the scoring were 8th graders, Dyllan Olivares and Wyatt Davis. Excellent defense was displayed by Michael Satterwhite and Travis Reeves.

Knights B-team

The Knights Jh B-team kicked off their season at Beth Keaton Gymnasium on January 5th vs St Paul Lutheran of Brenham. The Knights won the contest 38-18 to kick off their season. The neat part of this game was that every Knight was able to score in the contest. They were once again led by Connor Landrum with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Other scorers in the game were Ellis Lanham, Riley Heyman, Kaleb Jacobs, Joshua Hardy, and Cody Martin. Congrats to the Knights on their first victory on the season.

Faith Academy Track Team Secures Multiple Medals at Fayetteville Invitational

The Faith Academy Track Team braved harsh weather conditions during the Fayetteville Invitational Track Meet, but that didn’t stop them from giving it their all. The team secured several medals, including 1st place in the Pole Vault event and 2nd place in both the Discus and Shot Put events. Although the times and distances were not as impressive as usual due to a recent Spring break and 10-day break from training, the team is now focused on improving their performance for their next challenge.
