The Bellville Brahma High School Boys and Girls Golf teams have recently been crowned as district champions, marking a significant achievement for the school. The Brazos Future Farmers of America (FFA) has secured a place in the state qualifiers by placing 2nd in the Vet Science category. Denise Hauer, Kady Schneider, Cheyenne Michalsky, and Maythe Mendez were outstanding in their individual performances, placing 4th, 5th, 7th, and 10th, respectively, in the competition.
Brazos High School junior Kasey Zientek has won the 3A 220lb division at the State Texas High School Powerlifting (THSPA & THSWPA) competition, setting personal records in all three lifts. His win is a testament to his dedication, hard work, and discipline, and it sets high expectations for him going into his senior year.
The Brazos FFA wool team has won the area competition with all four members placing in the top ten, showcasing their expertise in the art of wool evaluation. The team will now compete for the state title, where they will have the chance to prove their skills against other top teams from across Texas.
The Brazos Golf Team has secured a second-place finish at the District Golf Tournament, with both the Boys and Girls teams qualifying for the Regional Tournament. Senior Jemma Zahradnik also tied for second place in the individual category, a remarkable achievement for her and the team.
The Faith Academy Track Team braved harsh weather conditions during the Fayetteville Invitational Track Meet, but that didn’t stop them from giving it their all. The team secured several medals, including 1st place in the Pole Vault event and 2nd place in both the Discus and Shot Put events. Although the times and distances were not as impressive as usual due to a recent Spring break and 10-day break from training, the team is now focused on improving their performance for their next challenge.
The Brazos Cougar Baseball team emerged victorious against the Van Vleck Leopards in a thrilling game that showcased their impressive skills on the field.
The Sealy varsity baseball team suffered a 9-4 loss to Needville in a conference game held on Tuesday. Despite their best efforts, Sealy was unable to catch up to Needville’s lead, with Needville maintaining a consistent edge throughout the game. The loss is a setback for Sealy, but they’ve had a successful season so far with a 12-4-1 record.
