The Brazos High School Jazz Band was victorious at the Victoria, Texas Jazz Festival on March 4, 2023, taking home 1st place in the competition. Renowned saxophonist and headliner of the festival, Lou Marini, also conducted a clinic for the students, sharing his insights and knowledge of the music industry.

The Faith Academy Lady Knights proved to be a force to be reckoned with at the TAIAO State Basketball Tournament, ending their season on a high note. Led by Coach Joe Riley, the Lady Knights fought hard in two come-from-behind victories on day one before ultimately dominating the State Championship game against Founders Classical of Leander. Senior Rachel Kuespert’s outstanding performance earned her the MVP of the tournament, while Coach Riley secured his first state title with the team.
The Faith Academy Knights kicked off their baseball season with three games, showing promising signs despite having only one practice before the start of the season. In their first game against Ferssati Catholic, the Knights fell short 8-5 in a back-and-forth game, but Coach Woodley was happy with the performance. Despite a loss to Northland Christian JV, the team bounced back on Friday against Somerville ISD with a 16-4 victory, and freshman Matthew McGowan was recognized as Player of the Week for his impressive contributions.

The Bellville Brahma Girls varsity softball team came out on top against the Madisonville Mustangs with an impressive 7-1 win in their neutral tournament game. Dominating the field from the first inning, the Brahma girls were unstoppable with 11 hits and strong defensive play. With this win under their belt, the team is set to continue their success as they aim for the state championship.
The Bellville FFA Livestock Team achieved a significant milestone by winning 5th place at the Texas State Livestock Invitational, showcasing their dedication and expertise in livestock management.
The Bellville Brahma High School Varsity Girls Soccer team faced off against the Sealy Tigers Girls Varsity Soccer team in a home conference game on Friday, and came out on top with a thrilling 2-1 victory in a shootout.
Wyatt Martinez, a senior trumpet player from Sealy High School, has earned a place in the All-State Band for the third time and plans to study Music Performance at a top Texas music school while receiving a $500 scholarship from the All-State Band organization.
The Brazos Strong Invitational, hosted by the Brazos Powerlifting program, saw the girls’ team take 1st place and the boys’ team take 4th place, with several individuals impressing and setting their sights on the Regional Meets at the end of the month.
