In an electrifying display of athleticism and teamwork, the Bellville Brahma varsity football team secured a decisive 38-0 win over the Stafford Spartans in an away non-conference game on September 1st. The Brahmas showcased their prowess in both offense and defense, leaving no room for the Spartans to make a comeback.

Game Highlights

Bellville’s Offensive Powerhouse

The Brahmas’ offense was nothing short of spectacular, racking up a total of 426 yards. The rushing game was particularly strong, with the team accumulating 398 yards on 62 carries. Junior DD Murray led the charge with 115 yards on 14 carries, scoring two touchdowns. Senior Sam Hranicky followed closely with 135 yards on 16 carries. Junior Corrian Hood also had an impressive game, rushing for 87 yards and scoring three touchdowns.

In the passing game, senior Zach Leuschner completed a 28-yard pass, contributing to the team’s total of 28 passing yards. Senior Jacob Shepherd was on the receiving end of that pass, adding 28 yards to his name.

Defensive Dominance

On the defensive end, the Brahmas were equally formidable. The team recorded a total of 64 tackles, with 13 solo and 51 assists. Senior Connor Gaines led the defense with 9 total tackles. The team also managed to sack the quarterback 3.5 times and recorded two interceptions.

Stafford’s Struggles

The Spartans had a tough time getting their offense going. Senior Kamare Shorts completed 5 of 10 passes for a total of 32 yards but was unable to find the end zone. The rushing game was equally stifled, with the team managing only 20 yards on 8 carries. Senior Terrance Woods had a difficult game, rushing for negative yardage.

Defensively, the Spartans recorded 87 total tackles but were unable to stop the Brahmas’ potent offense. Junior Darius Sims led the team with 12 total tackles, and senior Terrance Woods recorded the team’s only sack.
